If you live in Manila and
you’re a Filipino, then no
doubt you must know what a
barangay is. By definition it’s
a “community” or a
“neighborhood;” in essence
it’s a brotherhood and
sisterhood all rolled into one
happy, noisy, and nosey
package. Best of all, it’s an
all-welcoming club that
embraces all nonclub
members like long-lost soul
mates. For sheer hospitality
and warmth, no place on the
planet quite compares with
Barangay Manila.

The Rizal Park, after the Philippine national hero, is the biggest and most important park in Metro Manila. It begins on historic Taft Avenue and stretches all the way down to the edge of the Manila Bay. It is hallowed ground too in Philippine history, being the site Rizal’s martyrdom.
